According to an article written by Sara Spary in the Telegraph (article cited below), antibacterial wipes or even sprays are much less effective at eradicating germs than plain old soap!

Reading Sara’s article, It’s a little unnerving to think that “common germs, which can replicate themselves in just 20 minutes, quickly recolonize back to original mass even if just one single cell is left over.” as is stated in the article. It also states that “bar soap was found to be more effective at destroying bacteria because they tended to contain ingredients that broke down cell walls” according to Dr. Clare Lanyon, a biomedical scientist from Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne.
