How do I choose an office cleaning company?
Crew Members’ Qualifications and Experience is Key. Ask the company and how they choose, train and retain their cleaning crews. The boots on the ground are the most important factor in quality service. Happy crews deliver great results day-in day-out.
Company Culture is Instrumental in Long Term Relationship. What does the cleaning company stand for and how are they viewed? Talk to a few people on the phone and quiz them to find out.
Check for Communication Options with the Company. Since most commercial cleaning is done after business hours, it’s important to make sure the cleaning company has solid communication options between you, their office and their crew members. A paper logbook, email, and text isn’t sufficient for the busy world we live in today.
Solid Processes Guarantee Solid Service. Great commercial cleaning companies have established processes to start, maintain, and have back up crews for all the contracts they manage. How do you know they have these? Getting quotes is a good starts. See how they treat you during the quotation and start up process and try to avoid one-man-shows. Having multiple people and various engagements in the quoting process could be a indicator that the company most likely has the same structure in place for the service you are planning to receive.
Flexible Contracts and Minimal Terms are Game Changers. A copy of the commercial cleaning contract will show you if they are customer centric or profit focused. Look for flexibility to pause, restart, or change scope of your service. An easy cancellation policy can also help you both financially when things go wrong.
Commercial Insurance and Local Workplace Safety Insurance for Crews is a must. Every cleaning company should provide you with a copy of their insurance policy and clearance at any given time. While very rare, theft and dishonesty coverage may come in handy one day. There’s no harm in getting that too.
See Service first, Decide After. Checking references is important, but getting to see how they perform is something else. Ask to see if they can do a sample clean for you.
We will be elaborating on each one of these concepts in the following blogs and putting their links right here. Stay tuned!
